A graphic design combines words, visual elements, and layout for the purpose of engaging an audience. For example, a graphic design can be used to publicize an upcoming event, advertise a product or service, or illustrate a concert or recording.

Each part of the graphic design can be customized to convey a specific message. The words provide salient details, while the visual elements use color and form to express a certain theme or mood. The layout indicates the type of design, such as a CD booklet or a brochure. In the example above, the text is laid out in tri-fold using a summer color theme.
If you need assistance publicizing an event, I can help you create an invitation or poster. I also can generate an advertisement or brochure for your product or service, as well as a program or CD booklet describing a performance. Once the design is completed, you can print it on the stock of your choice or post it online.

The color theme for a design can be drawn from one of the four color wheels to the right. The three boxes next to each wheel are neutrals that can be used with that theme.
The table below lists default layouts. A design can use any one of these pre-defined layouts or be customized according to a set of specifications.

My design rates are based on size, number of sides, and number of sheets. Estimates for default layouts are given in the table below; however, rates for customized designs may vary.
For the best quality, any image or picture used in a print design should meet the following specifications:
The file format of your final design depends on whether it will be published in print or online. For print, the file format will be PDF, with a resolution of 300 dpi. For email or websites, the file format is usually JPEG, with a resolution of 72 dpi.
Although printing is not one of the services I provide, a design can be printed at any copy center that offers color printing. In addition, there are many websites that provide full-service printing.
If you will be using a printing service, be sure to use their specifications when requesting a design. Similarly, if you will be publishing your design, either in print or online, the publisher's specifications should be determined beforehand as well.
Finally, keep in mind that there are three design elements that increase the cost of printing: size of paper, type of paper, and use of color.
